  IMPACT
MINNEAPOLIS !!!!!!!!

          .....thru prayer

Go far ministries...in partnership with the Evangelical Free Church of America... sponsored a 15 mile run from the EFCA Home Office in Minneapolis to the site of the EFCA Leadership Conference in Eden Prairie, MN on June 24th. 5 high-school students from New Hope Church (EFCA) in Minneapolis and 2 students from Maywood Ev. Free Church in Rockford, IL participated
in the run in an effort to draw attention to the need of "prayer-focused" lives across the "Next Generation!"  The students carried a small Bible during each leg of the run, passing the Bible from one runner to the next as their commitment to a "prayer-focused" life. That night, the students circled around and prayed for Bill Hamel, EFCA President, prior to his message on "Developing Young Leaders...Next Generation."  Plans are underway for another run next summer, IMPACT COLUMBUS
, a 766 mile run from the EFCA Home Office to Columbus, OH to the EFCA Leadership and Youth Conference (Columbus 2010). Please continue to pray that the "Next Generation" will be a generation of prayer.

GO FAR NEWS!

The EFCA National Office Hope Prayer Summit took place Dec. 7th and 8th at the EFCA's National Office in Minneapolis, Mn.  Scott Nesse and Mike Downing were asked to come and participate in a 4-hr Prayer Summit for the entire staff of the EFCA National Home office.  The purpose was simple...A CALL TO PRAYER. Go Far Ministries has felt called over the last 12mo to travel to and pray for those that are serving at the EFCA National Office.  Bill Hamel, EFCA President, challenged those that attended the prayer summit "to be still and know God." It was evident that the Spirit did just that to those present. Scott and Mike spent the afternoon walking and praying the entire building for those that were attending the prayer summit.  It was a priviledge to stop at many desks throughout the building to pray for those that are involved in work there. As Scott has said many times..."Where prayer focuses, power falls!"  We continue to believe that to be true!

    Families That Go Far

                                            By  Scott Nesse
WHO ARE WE ?

Go Far Ministries is a ministry that is focused on encouraging families and churches to "go farther" with God by increasing their focus on prayer.  James 5:16 says,  "The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective!"  We believe that to be true.

"Where prayer focuses, power falls," has been Scott Nesse's motto for more than 25yrs in the pastorate. Today, as director of Go Far Ministries, he serves in a variety of ministry settings including speaking in churches, family life conferences and 3-day prayer walks across major U.S. cities,  all committed to the joyful task of prayerfully helping others "go far" in their relationship with God.  Together with his wife, Carol-Ann, and their seven children, he resides in Northern Illinois.

Scott's new book,  "Families That Go Far,"  is a  look into how families can "thrive" and not just "survive" in today's culture.  It is a simple,  but thought-provoking look into some of the things that prevent families from "going far" with God and how that can change!
  • Is anger a problem in your family?
  • Husbands do you know the Top  10 things that make your wife happy?
  • Do your friends point you to God or are they a distraction in your life?
  • Dads...Do you purpose to lead your families to "go far" with God?

These are just some of the things that Scott discusses in his new book,  "Families That Go Far."

Please pray for us as we continue to seek that which God asks us to do in pointing families,  churches and our nation to prayer.  Please take a look at our upcoming mininstry schedule and pray for us as we move forward.

To go far in life with God, one must know how to pray.
